Did you have a bird seed feeder nearby? I get lots of wheat seeds germinating under the feeders here. It's a cheap large seed, so is used to bulk out bird-seed, however, most of your feathered visitors discard it!
Lords and ladies, or wild arum. It has a white arum-shaped flower within the next month or so, and then a stem with shiny red berries late summer / early autumn. If you have children, beware, the berries are poisonous. But then again, so many garden plants are, as children we were brought up to put nothing in our mouths from the garden, unless we were told it WAS safe to do so...

Sounds like you have a "posh" cultivar in your pot!

Wild arum normally has plain green leaves, sometimes with dark purple / black splodges on.....

Personally, I would keep it, and keep an eye on it to prevent it spreading.

In the wild, it tends to grow in dappled shade, so often at the base of hedges, or the edge of woodland. I guess that is a shadey corner of the garden? I have never seen a variegated form in the wild, so your plant-in-a-pot is probably a sport, that has been propagated. The two would look good together though, as their foliage would contrast nicely!

The ones in your photo look like Arum maculatum...............

The one that you mentioned in a pot could be Arum italicum.
