    Hi All.
Can anyone advise me on the best time to put my lilies, mostly oriental out in the garden?
I have several older bulbs growing and are around 2- 3" tall .Lots of smaller baby bulbs also now growing. All are in containers and in the unheated greenhouse.
Trouble is the greenhouse is quickly becoming full up with other flower seeds that have been potted on.
I was not thinking of putting them directly outside but in a blow away greenhouse for protection at night. Actually it is a tomato greenhouse that is laid on its side which makes it ideal for pots like lilies & fuchsias.

I've left mine out all year for the last two years and they're just showing now. I would think you can be safe if you can protect them from any hard frost which may suddenly come along.

also slugs they will like the tender shoots that have had greenhouse protection , you need to harden off for at least a week , so out during the day and back under cover at night time , should be ok to leave out after that plus they should start slowing down a bit ...

Thanks for the advice. I have just got them out of the greenhouse to harden off and will put them back tonight. Will watch out for slugs as well.

Last year I got lily beetle for the 1st time. Completely new compost this year and thrown the old away. Washed all the bulbs of old compost just in case eggs are present + will spray early as too late when beetles are present.

mine are in ground all year, never lifted, and they bloom like crazy, year after year after year. I cannot deal with lifting /replanting.
