This is all over my garden, even in my pots and baskets, the question is should I be pulling it up?

It does have pretty little yellow flowers though :snork:

Top pic with red stem is herb Robert.
Other one with yellow flowers as you said is Welsh poppy. I leave the latter in places where it suits but don't let it go to seed.

In the second photo, the plant on the left looks like creeping buttercup, to the right of it is willowherb.

The willowherb will pull out easily, with the buttercup you'll need to make sure you ease the roots out without breaking off the leaves, or it will grow back again.

Oh, that's a shame- Welsh poppy has similar leaves and is much nicer!

Oh dear...I do despair of the hard and fast weed mindset. Definition of a weed is just a plant in the "wrong" place, i.e. a peculiar human concept. Whilst I acknowledge that weeds may need to be managed in order to make way for what we want in the garden, I delight in nature's gifts, i.e. seeing natural plants spring up where I have not planted them, often providing pretty flowers.

Thereagain I favour a naturalistic garden...a far cry from my mother who would mercilessly wrench up anything she had not planted and prefers to keep everything very controlled/cropped...what I perceive as stunted. I would much rather see a pretty "weed"/flower emerge from a crevice in concrete than just see a bland, grey expanse of concrete.

It isn't taking up too much room at the moment and adds a little splash of colour :)

In the wrong place so technically weeds, but they look lovely when they flower :wub2:

I have a lot of bugloss that springs up in my back garden. A "weed" is a loaded word designed to denigrate something springing up naturally. "A plant in the wrong place" could apply to anything that we wish not to be there, i.e. whether natural or cultivated or a garden escape.

Even if creeping buttercup is in the "right" place now it won't be long before it is everywhere.
Weed and get rid ASAP (in my opinion).

Me to and I certainly class the damned stuff as a weed. Not as prolific as forget me nots but a real pain in my ass.

Having said all the above I allow Arum maculatum to grow away untouched in several shady spots in my garden,
