I bought an electric fan heater for my greenhouse which runs at either 1 or 2kw but now I'm thinking I should have bought a tubular heater as they are cheaper to run.

What kind of heating is best?

I have both. In a cold winter I usually prefer the tubular one but the fan gives a quick heat boost.

    Cool! :)

Is the tube heater cheaper to run?

Sorry, I don't keep a check. I work on the basis that if it works and I don't lose the plants it's cheap enough!

I like the tubular one because the heat permeates around but I feel (maybe I'm wrong) that I have to be more careful with the fan because I think there may be a less even distribution of heat and also it's disturbing the air which may have consequences too. My fan also has a cool setting and I do sometimes use that on days when it seems very hot (!) for air circulation.
