Once flowerers

    Here are three of the once flowering roses that I love. They are in full bloom at the moment

      Hybrid de la Maitre-Ecole
      Mauve or mauve blend.
      Registration name: Rose de la Maître-École
      Bred by Coquereau (France, 1831).
      Gallica / Provins, Hybrid Gallica.
      Rose-pink. Ages to lilac-pink. Strong fragrance. Average diameter 3.75". Large, full (26-40 petals), in small clusters bloom form. Once-blooming spring or summer.
      Armed with thorns / prickles. Large foliage. 5 to 7 leaflets.
      Height of 3' to 47" (90 to 120 cm). Width of 3' (90 cm).

      Mme Hardy
      Centifolia, Damask. White or white blend. Strong fragrance. Medium, double (17-25 petals), button-eye, cupped bloom form. Once-blooming spring or summer. Height of 4' to 6' 7" (120 to 200 cm). Width of 4' to 5' (120 to 150 cm). Julien-ALEXANDRE Hardy (1832), Eugene Hardy (1832).

      Medium red Moss.
      Registration name: Laneii
      Bred by Jean Laffay(France, 1845).
      Introduced in United Kingdom by Lane & Son in 1847 as 'Laneii'.
      Moss.
      Red. Strong fragrance. Large, double (17-25 petals), globular bloom form. Occasional repeat later in the season.
      Height of up to 4' (up to 120 cm). Width of up to 3' (up to 90 cm).

        Thanks Woo, wasn't sure whether to put more, but you've saved me having to look them all up :dbgrtmb:
        They have all sent out taller wands than the given heights, but need to fill in underneath to reach the allotted widths, but they're young so I'll let them off. However people may be interested to know that Laneii (at least I think this is what this rose is, I looked up moss roses and it seems the best fit - it came with the house) romps around using suckers. It's an excellent rose if you want a large thicket. And the scent is to die for :wub2:
