Hi Becky, thanks for the welcome. I would feel ashamed to put photos of my garden on here at the moment!

Hi Susie, I'm a newbie too but finding the forum very friendly and helpful. Hope you do too! Yes, I have some pics of my garden that I'm hesitating to post (especially as it's my own neglect that's let it get in its current state!). We can console ourselves with the thought that our 'after' pics will be even more impressive when compared to the 'before' pics :D

Apologies @Beckie76 I spelt your name wrong earlier :(

Hi @Anzia, I will admit to not being the most enthusiastic gardener. I wish I enjoyed it more, and I think I probably would if I could get it looking nice!

Yes, it's a bit of a vicious circle I think. It looks awful, and I'm not sure what to do, so I don't do anything. It then gets even worse, and I'm even more stuck about what to do. Sounds like we have the same challenge! I saw in your other thread about the rambling roses. I'm too novice to have any advice, but I'm sure someone here will have some tips. Good luck!

Hi Susie, welcome to GC. Don't ever be ashamed to post pics. We all started somewhere and mostly didn't know what we were doing (some of us still don't :snork:) and you'll get so much help and advice on here. Everyone is really friendly so don't be afraid to ask about anything, even if you think it's trivial, someone will have an answer for you. Look forward to seeing your pics and chatting to you around the forum :spinning:

Hi Susie and welcome to the forum

I'm another clueless gardener, who happens to have an allotment as well :roflol:

I'm ever the optimist, I see a plant like it, do a primary check, then if I like I take it home bung it in the garden if it grows then it grows...

Sometimes, the details say no, but.... it works

I have several plants that came in pre planted containers last year, and apparently they don't over winter, well I chucked them in the greenhouse watered when I remembered... And they sat out on the patio now, all started to regrow!

But must admit I do try to learn how to take care of plants probably more so that I've invested in several Palms, 2 of which are going to be too large to put in the greenhouse over winter, so will need to research best methods of wrapping them up for winter to best protect them
