Hello am new to this forum, very excited to start up gardening. The garden was a complete mess so going to actually do something about it and stick to it. have got someone round today to clear it all and going to start again, buying pots and things soon to fill with annuals and going to start a herb garden. Also, some parts of the garden are in shade so I'm looking for plants/herbs to do well here, and they have to be safe for my kitty cat. Big plans, going to start small though, one or two pots at a time so as not to get ahead of myself. Wish me luck!! Eventually do want roses....they my fav, but, even though not toxic to cats worried about the thorns

Welcome to Gardeners Corner Wild-Rose. :) There's plenty of members here willing to help you out along the way. I have roses and many cats in my neighbourhood that pass through my garden and they don't worry about thorns. Most animals, like us are aware of what can hurt them.

Welcome Wild-Rose. You will find this friendly forum helpful!

On a wild rose note, next door's garden has wild white roses that have travelled (in great clusters) over to my side and I love how they have managed to intertwine with my red arbour roses. A welcome freebie! [IMG]

:sign0016: To the forum @Wild-Rose, I'm looking forward to watching your garden grow & I'd love to see a photo of your cat :cat-kittyandsmiley:, I have a cat too, he's getting old but still a bonnie boy! He tends to stay clear of the roses, so they don't cause my cat any problems, just an idea you could buy some cat mint, your at would love it! :)
I'm pleased to hear you've had some help with the clearing, that canbe quite overwhelming, I hope you are pleased with the progress he's made :dbgrtmb:
