I'm looking to plant some roses I have never done it before. Is it to late to plant roses now?

Pretty sure that as long as they're in a container, they can be planted at any time.

            Hi Kris,

I put three in about a fortnight ago and they're doing brilliantly, in fact they're just starting to flower.

As Lolimac says above, make sure you keep them well watered, I'm putting a full bucket of water on each if mine every day.

As Freddy says, make sure they're container grown. Don't buy any pre-packaged Roses now it's much too late for them now.

If you have a B&Q near you they have a good selection.

If you can't find any that you particularly like at the moment, hang on till around November time and then you'll be able to get good bare root plants either locally or via mail order.

Good evening @Kris1990 goodness is that the time already:heehee: You will only get container Roses now which you can plant at any time, bare root Roses you only get from October until March so your answer is if it is a container Rose from a reputable Rose grower's ie nurseries no it is not to late my friend:smile:

B and Q's or Homebase ect have some have a good selection but please select and look at what condition your Roses is in ,as sometimes at the places they are not looked after as they should be:smile:

Well I have just ordered some seeds and I have just bought a green house so these should be enough to get my started.

Just be aware that it's too late to be sowing Peppers and Chillis this year. A bit borderline for the Sunflowers, but should be ok.

Peppers require a fairly long growing season. Unless you are prepared to add plenty of heat (and probably extra light) during the autumn/winter, the plants won't produce. It's just not practical. Hang on to the seed and sow next Feb/early March at a temperature of maybe 20c?Once germinated and potted up, you need to be thinking of adding heat at night, min 10c, I would say. I suppose you could keep them on a sunny windowsill until they get to a size that necessitates that they go into the greenhouse.
