Just a thought, this month is where the title "once in a blue moon" has meaning!! It's one of the rare times when we have two full moons in the same month. The first was on the 2nd July and the next will be on the 31st July.........not a lot of people know that!!:heehee::dunno:

Hi Woo, well, whenever I use that title I do always think of the rose first!! I used to have rose Blue Moon in the garden back in the 80's but, for some reason, it never became a favourite of my wife or myself.:dunno::coffee::snork:

27 days, 7 hours, 45 minutes and 11.6 seconds, Jiffy!!:heehee: Yes, partly, but also because of the Earth's eccentric rotation working along with it:dunno::coffee::snork:.

I've never held the fact that a rose is prone to disease against it, Woo, when deciding if I wanted it or not:dunno:. I've always gone for the colour, shape, scent and worried about it's weakness later!!:heehee: I know a lot of rose lovers, not you, push the modern varieties because of their stated disease resistance over the older roses. A good percentage of the roses in my collection, such as Compassion, Masquerade, Crazy for You, Rosemoore, are prone to disease but I think that's it part of nature and I use fungicide to combat it wherever I can.:coffee:
