i have an old pre-moulded pond and was thinking of using it to plant some veg and keep it out of the way of the dog so i would just be setting it on the ground with a suitably sturdy frame but was wonderingwhat soil/compost/??????? i would use to help get the best yield from any plants in there and what suggestions would be made for veg to going into these conditions. hope that makes sense?

Depending on how deep it is I would start with a good layer of gravel for drainage. there are some drainage holes at the bottom right? Then just some good top soil with some compost of 1/3 the top soil and some lime mixed in to sweeten the veggies.
Thats how I would do it.

Mark, make some holes in the base for drainage, then fill with a 50/50 mix of multi purpose compost and John Innes compost number 3.:gnthb:

Hi Ni I have 6 raised beds and I Used a combination of regular garden soil from my garden, compost, perlite, manure, etc. so that the soil in your raised bed box is good enough for growing garden vegetables and/or flowers.:)
