Pink butterfly flower =]

This plant was in my auntie's garden in kent although she didn't know what it was the butterfly's seemed to love it:hehe:

I'm thinking Teasel family? (Dipsacaceae)

 

very nice, ball shaped rather than cone shaped.

 

The butterfly carl is a Painted Lady, they have just arrived here in large numbers from southern France and Med area, I have seen dozens this weekend.:thumb:

The last two abysmal summers played havoc with the butterfly breeding here so lets hope for a good one this time.

ahhh although I'm saying teasel family I don't actually mean that it looks like a teasel, to me it looks much more like a Scabious or maybe a Knautia

also on a side note it appears to be very invasive which to me seems like a blessing =]

 

It Looks like the Verbena Rigida iv'e just bought but the leave's are different!

The plant is Phuopsis stylosa. It's quite a vigorously spreading perennial, though very pretty when in flower.
