          Hi Harry,

          It looks like Fuchsia Tom West. If you have a look on the Fuchsia thread, have a look at my pics on June 27th and also yesterday.

          If it is it's a hardy Fuchsia which can be planted out now.
          You need to make a saucer shaped hole about 3/5 inches deep and about a 10 inches wide. In the middle of this make another hole big enough for the plant.
          Plant the plant into the centre hole but don't refill the outer hole, this will occur naturally over the summer. This way the Fuchsia will be planted deeper than a normal plant and this gives extra frost protection.

            Do you think that one will be frost hardy Anthony?

            Hi Pete,

            Yeah it's hardy to minus 10 deg C .

            It's a very old variety from 1853, one of it's grandparents is F. Magellanica, where we get most of the hardy genes from. Just has the normal ( for that type ) red and purple single flowers.
