I my 50's now and have decided to give gardening a go.
I have a very small garden so will only have room for growing in pots and planters etc. some flowers but hoping for mainly veg
    I do have a small greenhouse 6'x4'
Am hoping for lots of info and advice to get me started.
As I said this is all new to me so anything to stop me from running before I can walk would be good.

:sign0016: to GC @paul hawken lovely to have you join us :)

Something very simple, which can be grown in a pot outside now is .... salad leaves. They don't take very long before you can harvest them and that sense of achievement is wonderful (well, it is if you like salad leaves :heehee: )

There is a sub forum called "New Gardeners" which you may wish to have a look through to see if there are any topics there which may be of use to you.

Or, if you think of something specific, say for example: peas - type the word into the search box at the top right hand side of the page and see if any of those posts are of any help.

We all have different size gardens, different soils, different styles, so you will fit right in.

Looking forward to getting to know you around the forums

Hi and welcome! I'm finding this to be such a friendly forum, I'm sure you'll enjoy it here :) One resource that I'm finding helpful as a new gardener myself is the Gardeners' World weekly checklist of jobs, divided into weekly lists for 'flowers', 'fruit and veg', 'greenhouse' and 'around the garden'. Not that my garden is anywhere near ready for such efficiency, but I live in hope. If you subscribe (free) they send you the weekly list by email or you can look directly on the website. (http://www.gardenersworld.com/what-to-do-now/week29/)
Like @"M" suggests, their checklist recommends sewing greens this week:
