i noticed when I turned the soil over in the entire garden I didn't see many, if any worms.
Is it worth adding a few kgs of them before I seed?
I do not want lob worms but others are fine if they don't leave crusts.

The worms may be missing for two reasons Car.crash. At present not having a lawn or weeds there is very little in your garden for them to feed on. Also they will go deep during dry spells and you may not see any appear until autumn. I don't think there is a need to add any to your garden and once you start watering your new lawn you will probably see them appearing.

Adding organic material such as compost, manure, leaf mould or whatever you can get your hands on will encourage them.

Ahhh, I hadn't realised that Sheal, well maybe not a great idea to add too much manure then :)

Should have realised as this is in the 'Lawns' forum
