Found this growing in the middle of my flower border - I was wondering if it might be a clematis given the leaf shape and tendrils, but it doesn't look the same as the one I already have. Any ideas?

Ooh how exciting - thanks! Do you think it'd mind if I shifted it to the right a few feet, it'd be a more suitable home?

:) Hello Gsylass and welcome to GC.

I have them shooting up all over one section of my garden ... much to my dismay. I think I pulled up four today already that were not there yesterday ....s00k I have removed dozens this spring already.

If it is a sucker from a neighbour, you can dig down and break the root off somewhere and move it. However, it probably will re-shoot from where you have taken it. Perhaps it may be a better idea to train it along the wall on a trellis in the direction you would prefer it to go.

If your neighbour (if indeed you have one) does not have this plant then a bird may have deposited the seed and then it may be easier to transplant.

Good luck whatever you do with it and enjoy the forum.

    Hi Victoria,

No I don't think my neighbours have one, it's probably a generous bird! Thanks for the advice - I'll try training it in a sensible direction (ie avoiding the window just above it).
