Solved ID help please

    This has appeared in my most problem patch of the border. Can anyone tell me what it is please, it's the one with the small pink flowers near the monarda. Please excuse the bindweed and various other weeds. image.jpg image.jpg
    Don't think I'll ever beat this patch:doh:.

      Thanks for the speedy reply:blue thumb: Just had a google, the common name knotweed scares me a little, we have just discovered the Japanese variety a short distance from this border. Is this just coincidence? Probably I'm guessing:fingers crossed:. Thanks again Scrungee:)

      Japanese knotweed is Fallopia japonica. Polygonum is in the same family, but they are not connected in the way that concerns you.

        Having said that, the weedy types of Polygonum are a bind to get rid of, the roots are persistent so any bits left in will re-grow.

          Sorry of my life with that section:doh:It's got bindweed, couch grass, nettles and brambles amongst others and on top of that it's heavy clay:wallbanging:. Thanks for the heads up though:thumbsup:

          Thanks for the input Gwen Austin, it's a seriously bad corner.
          We are in the process of buying the other side, hoping we can fight a better battle if we own the land :scratch:
