Hi there Chums. Herewith is a pic of my Rhododendron. For some reason the flowers look a bit bleached out in the pic, but in fact the colour is quite vivid. For several years it was pretty much neglected, only got watered once in a while and looked fairly sick. Because of this it never really flowered that well, if at all. Anyway, over the last 18 months or so, I've tried to get it back on it's feet and to my eyes it's looking really good (compared to how it was). The thing is, I reckon it needs to be potted on and the compost MUST be pretty stale by now. So, can someone tell me the best time to do this and whether or not I should try to remove as much of the old compost as I can (in moderation, of course)[IMG] Cheers...freddy.

I'm told that the best time to move rhoddies is when they are in flower-can't remember where from or why, seem to remember something about them not growing whilst they are inm flower or something-not to contradict Paul, just to add a question if anything.

And I don't doubt your rhoddie is much more vivid than that, all the pics I have taken of my pink or purple ones all look like that-I think they must have super reflective powers when it comes to taking pics;.
