I like the interesting choice of username and the avatar pic. Is that Amanita Phalloides, aka Death Cap?

yes - it put me in hospital for 3 months when i was 13. I'm unlikely to forget it.
I always buy mushrooms from Tesco now. Learned my lesson at an early age

Back to my pic of what may be speedwell but would appreciate a second opinion:

Hi amanita, looks like wild bugle (Ajuga reptans) to me, but I can't see for sure.

Talking of mistaken identity: A friend came to visit with her dog. The dog was a bit under the weather and as she was into herbal remedies, and she had heard that bugle has medicinal properties, she gathered some and fed it to the dog. I was a bit nonplussed about this as it was unknown to me, but she assured me that she knew what she was doing.
She later found out that what she actually meant was Bugloss. Luckily the dog came to no harm, but illustrates how easy it for people who have a smattering of knowledge to get it wrong.

I'm with Blackthorn - Bugle it is.

That dog had a lucky escape there Blackthorn - a little knowledge can be a dangerous thing.
