Is this a climber?

    This plant has been cut back and has become tangled up with some clematis, I am trying to discover if this is a climber so I can detangle it and send the clematis one way and this the other or weather to just keep it trimmed and let the clematis climb up the fence.

    :gnthb: Hi Chipper & Welcome to GC.. It looks to me like a Climbing Hydrangea - hydrangea-petiolaris

    They are beautiful when in flower if it is one.. Perhaps have a google & see what you think..

    Hi Marley, Thanks for your swift reply :)
    Now you've posted that picture I'm 99% certain I remember seeing those flowers before. I had to cut that and the clematis right back last year for some fencing work and they've started to grow together in a twisted mess.
    I'll get out now and sort it now (after this coffee and as long as the rain holds off:)).

    It is a climbing Hydranger,the clematis loves to clib through it.
