The first two pics look like Alyssum and Aubrieta respectively. They just look a bit tired and having finished flowering, need a trim back to tidy them up. Can't say about the honeysuckle - maybe caterpillars? Mine gets a bit chewed as well sometimes, I've tried not to let it bother me!

it was 450 which is still good but i got him down to 300 by sayin he doesnt need the workmate for my job and that i will help him instead, :gnthb: he is basically doing it when he wants, evenings etc, so its cheap for me and money for him

i am in a rented property and lived here 7 years and hated the garden, it was all gravel so i took it up and layed a lawn myself and used scissors from the kitchen to cut edges of lawn :lollol: but as its rented i have not wanted to spend loads on garden, but i started getting into gardening once i joined here and i have gone mad since and love it and its good seeing the growth and tidyness of the garden so i keep at it and its nice going outside now :) i thought a patio would be nice as its a gravel area which is a big poo area for cats, the patio is actually really big, its going to be 5 mtrs x 6 mtrs :thumb:

I guess it depends with rented properties if its private or council. I can understand why people do not want to spend much on their gardens when its privately rented as you could make it lovely, spend a fortune and then the landlord serves notice to quit ..... and you loose everything.

However if you have a nice landlord who has no intention of selling, its always worth asking for a few pennies towards the cost as he benefits from you keeping the place nice, should he ever need to use the property as security for finance/new mortgages etc.

If its council, then I always think spend as much as you would if you owned the place yourself as its very rare for the council to try to gain possession of the property again unless you dont pay the rent! If your going to be living there for countless years then make it as nice as you can, i think :)

its private rent, and he calls himself Rigsby lol i have to say he is the most skingy landlord, wont pay for nothing to be done unless forced or i threaten to move but seeing as i have been here 7 years it dont seem like i will lose the house and 300 for patio isnt a huge amount i suppose with all the good use i will get from it so worth doing as smelling cat poo in summer is yuck :)

oh dear lol ... he doesnt sound too great!

Your right though, its not an awful amount really in the grand scheme of things and ultimately its you that will get the enjoyment from it :)

Just hope the cats dont use the lawn now instead though !
