Lots of Small Coppers about this afternoon after it stopped raining and the sun came out

 

A male Brimstone has been around most of the day and also a very brief visit of a Hummingbird Hawk Moth, too quick to capture.

 

Good camouflage Strongy, they are so leaf-like.

 

The Hummingbird Hawk moth was back this afternoon and quickly grabbed the camera but I needn't have rushed as it stayed there for a couple of minutes but good shots were still difficult.
It particularly liked Salvia Icing Sugar more than Hotlips..

What an unusual creature the moth is Strongy, you did well to get the shots.

 

beautiful colours Scrungee.

Sheal, in the first one you can just pick out the proboscis bent to get down to the nectar.

 

A few more from this afternoon at Durlston CP. The Butterflies came out as it warmed up (a bit!). Ragwort seemed to be the food plant.

Clouded Yellow, always folds wings on landing, hiding the intense deep yellow colour.
