    Will the likes of cabbage and cauliflower grow over winter if sown now? What about beetroot?

    Beetroot can stay in the ground until quite late in the year. Best covered with straw in case of frost. BUT I don't think they would even sprout this late in the season.

      You could probably still get away with sowing one of the varieties of spring cabbage now FC. Especially if you can start them off under cover in a greenhouse or cold frame. :dbgrtmb:

        sowed some spring cabbage 7 days ago and there up already in pots

            You could try 'April' or 'Spring Hero' FC, I've had satisfactory results from late sowings using those varieties in the past. :dbgrtmb:
