I think the really serious growers going for record weights are sowing in October.

When I was show secretary for our allotment society, one chap who used to come always grew his Kelso from pip's.As far as I can remember I think he use to replant his best prize winners in large plant pots regrow on,when the seed head came he use to take of the tips down to the base of the head then left it to grow and the pips use to form on the seed head top,as soon as they where big enough to handle he would transplant into trays and place on a heated bench to grow on until ready to pot into single pots.

Wow. Luckily I only grew eight plants from my packet. Got plenty of seeds left.

Is anyone going to try and produce your own seed going forward?

They are the right ones, if you have not grown them before you will find they are very tasty and sweet

Totally intrigued. Ordered some seeds from a supplier in Quebec.

Now there's a thought, wonder how big a Kelsae going to seed would be :yikes:

Would we need to contact Air Traffic Control?

Holy moly, if you have to plant in October in your zone, I should have done so a couple months ago :yikes:

Nah, I'm just going to follow the leader and plant on Boxing Day.
