We have on the odd occasion when we are away on holiday used Morrisons cafes for meals and they have always been very good. After we have been out walking for hours on end and on our way back to base camp we have popped in the local one to pick up supplies and then ended up having a meal because I am too worn out to go back to the caravan and cook a meal.

Their produce in the actual supermarket has always been of good quality and reasonably priced so can't complain.

I have used our local Aldi and Lidl but don't really like them as there isn't enough choice but that could be due to the fact the our nearest ones are quiet tiny.

I had an email the other day from Tescos reminding me about the 5p charge on carrier bags and also that they are stopping the green points for using our own bags:redface:.I think I ought to be sending them a bill for all the times I have advertised their company free of charge:old::snork:

That represents a huge financial loss to us.

Tesco previously permitted an unverified 3 bag re-use points per shop, even if buying multiple shops of single 1p items and claiming 3 carrier bags used for each single item shop.

We use our Morrisons, as its local to us, and we don't they can be beaten for the quality and price of meat and fish.
Tried Aldi and Lidl they do some nice cheeses for christmas. Thats the only time we ever go in.
We've got about £70 in vouchers so far cheap christmas food shopping

Went in on Monday, looking for birthday cakes but they were mostly dated 1st and 4th October.. this was on the 5th.

Always feel like I've stepped back into the 90s whenever I go in Morrisons. They're so far behind the other supermarkets, by far.

According to the radio news this morning Tescos profits are down by 50% so glad I haven't got any shares with them although I think they should hand out long service awards for the amount of time we have shopped with them (since 1976:snork:)

I expect if Mr Kandy retires next year we shall have to start shopping at the cheaper stores as we will have more time on our hands plus I expect we shall have to use the Caravan Club CL sites instead of the proper sites to save on money, also will have to turn the heating right down to the frost setting and layer up on extra clothes and also live on soup and home made bread .Better still he can stay on an extra five years so we can still enjoy our life of luxury:snork:

It's easy to save money when you are time rich.

Please don't inflict that on him, early retirement is wonderful.

@Scrungee it isn't early retirement as he is now 64 having been at work since he was 18 (Went into six form to do 'A levels'.)I want him to retire but his cousin keeps trying to talk him into staying on another year because she hasn't allowed her hubby to retire properly for the last ten years.Mr Kandy could have retired at 63 but then he would have had a reduced pension:redface:

He has had his pension forecasts for his two main pensions but I don't like the idea of him having to buy an annuity especially as people have had said they are doing very well of late.

He still has to get his state pension forecast but his will be reduced because the government years ago opted them out by default:mute:

If he takes his pension pot does he wait until he retires and is getting just his small pensions as opposed to taking it while at work which will push him into the higher tax bracket so will get stung for a lot of tax.It is all so confusing and you need a degree these days to understand it all and he has enough on his plate trying to get his dad's affairs sorted with his sister without other things to worry about:phew:

That's a really late retirement age in my opinion, I managed to wangle an incredibly early retirement, but I do that sort of thing all the time.

Having the time to shop around massively reduces supermarket shopping costs.

I didn't earn anything from the match and more card and so stopped using it. Was yet another card to remember to use, along with my nectar, advantage, clubcard etc etc.
