        A couple of points.........

The first is I think it's too early to be wrapping stuff up like this. We're still having days between ( roughly ) 10 and 20 deg ( I don't know where you live Bigbore ).

Secondly, plastic really is a nono. In warm weather the temperature inside will soar. And there is no way for the condensation to escape, therefore creating a moist or even damp stagnant atmosphere causing rotting.
Also if it does turn really cold you run the risk of causing damp during a sunny day which would automatically freeze and turn to ice overnight inside the plastic which sort of defeats the object of covering the plant in the first place.

Or even to allow the plant to survive normally unclad for at least another month? :blue thumb:

              :oopss:

              :yikes:

              Were the leaves dead ?

I think you should just uncover it for now but we really need an expert on tropicals.

              Where do you live ?

Obviously the advice is different if you live in Truro to that you would receive in Inverness !

Plant will be fine...Banana will not sulk from removing some or all leaves....I cut them 18- 24" in height at first frost then add some bark at base to help roots and a couple times round plant with fleece and your sorted.... :blue thumb:

No harm done, I protect my bananas in a similar way using. Then if there is a dry spell in Jan/Feb I will open up the fleece to let the air in for a day or so.

You'll have to move further west @CanadianLori to Alberta or BC. :)

Well, yes B.C. (4,300 kilometers away) is much more temperate in areas - they have zones from 1b to 7b but Alberta (3,300k away) at lease one zone worse (1a-5a) than me. I guess I should count my blessing and not even think about moving all of this stuff!"snow plough"

My daughter and her other half live outside Vancouver so they have access to Whistler etc. for winter ski-ing/snowboarding. Snow for more than a couple of weeks would drive me mad!
