The " joys " of lawn mower maintenance.

A quick question you may be able to help me with ...... Ive got an Echo leaf blower thats about 30 years old but little used (1 hours) and is a mare to start as it has no primer bulb. It can take ages to start if not used in a while. Is there any tips on starting it as it ha s no primer.
Also what do think of Seafoam in small engines ?
          Thanks for any input.

Hi....at that age I would imagine the fuel lines are pretty dried up by now which would effect their seal to the fuel tank, any loss of seal at entry to tank would not help matters.. inside the carb is a small gasket and diaphragm which regardless of its low working hours will have also dried out...to replace these is not very difficult or expensive...if you can find a model number on blower I can help further...regarding seafoam I rarely use it because I will just whip off a carb and clean it if needed....used more often nowadays in US due to higher levels of Ethanol in their fuel...

...sorry just to add...if you remove plastic cover to air filter, normally its just held on by a thumb screw etc....this leaves the side of the carb exposed where you can give hera quick shot of easy start...once the engine starts to fire up it will draw fuel from tank with more ease...if you need pics of this just shout

                  Thanks MF.
I wont be home for a couple of weeks so cant get the model number unfortunately. Im still surprised it doesnt have a primer bulb fitted.
I was going to add the seafoam at the last cut so any unspent petrol in the carb over winter wouldnt go bad and gum up the carb.
                  Cheers
