    Hi, can anyone help?

I've had this tree for years, in a pot. I'm thinking of planting it into the grown, but know nothing about it? Would it grow very big? What is it?
    Thank you :)

It's a spruce of some sort; bonzai obviously.

Thank you, I'm new to gardening, but guessing if planted in the grown it won't grow big?

Agreed, looks like a spruce. It does look like it's had some bonzai treatment but note that without continued bonzai treatment, it will turn into a normal sized tree. It could well be a dwarf variety of spruce though so I'm not sure how big it would get.

Bonzaiing requires you to trim the root ball down. Leaving it in a small pot and restricting the amount the roots grow does a similar thing. Not sure how much it will grow when planted in the ground but if you're concerned about it getting too big then plant it in a big pot, buried in the ground, and if it gets too big, pull it out and sell it.

Looks a bit like a very unhealthy blue spruce to me, most varieties sold are fairly slow growing, but can get bigish eventually.

Hi, I googled it and blue spruce came up, I've had it many years, before getting into gardening, think it's time I gave it some love :wub2:

Yes, although they are slow growing, so it might take two or three years to get it looking really good again.
