I think the incident with Russia will be the tip of an iceberg, with so many different factions fighting there's going to be a trigger happy chappie who shoots then ask 'who was that'.

The Labour Party have lost face, the conservatives are bullies, the liberals are where and ukip are under experienced.

Which leaves us with the Monster Raving Loony party.:spinning: :hapfeet::spinning:

Corbyn is not taken seriously - he's even worse than Miliband - he won't last long.

IMHO the decision to bomb ISIL in Syria was the correct one. If you believe Cameron - we have already prevented several terrorist plots in the UK - the threat is already here - bombing simply reduces further the ISIL ability to terrorise.

As the saying goes - "all that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing."

It was such a great strategy that the whole of the BEF and the French army were driven back to the French coast and we had to call on the little boats to evacuate the survivors. So we didn't fight at that time at every level, although we did, at first, try to fight WWII as though it was still WW1.:dunno::wallbanging:

If there was one thing that the German public and the Great British public had in common it was that the bombing on either side did not break their moral. It was the opinion of the Military when invading and occupying Germany that the civilians had managed to survive showing the same strengths as the British.:dunno:

I don't know whether or not it was deliberate, or he had to answer a call of Nature, but Mr Corbyn arrived at his seat midway through Hilary Benn's surprising but welcome rousing speech which entirely opposed Corby's and his cronies views. I think it is the first time in living memory that Conservative MP's, in fact the whole House, have stood up and applauded a Labour Party member after a speech.
But watching Mr Corbyn's face it was obvious he was not a happy man and didn't want to be there at that moment. I think he must have felt very lonely among all those people cheering a person who has come to the very forefront of the Labour Party and given heart to the Labour MP's who, secretly or publicly, oppose their Leader and the members of the Labour party who have made Labour so unelectable.
Unfortunately, it is the extreme members of the Labour Party who are still in control and will keep backing Mr Corbin even though the majority of the
members of the Parliamentary Party oppose him, so I can't see Mr Corbyn being ousted from the Leadership as yet.:dunno::coffee::snork:

With respect, I was replying to a comment about Mr Benn's speech in the wider context of the vote that corbyn lost. I was under the impression that threads on this forum were flowing discussion. Have they changed to a simple yes/no vote format while I've been away?

Well, the thread is now back onto the more narrow context of the Thread, so we won't have to take a vote on it!!:heehee:

          I'm opposed to that! :snork:

I thought that what happened directly after the speech was indicative of the attitudes. Did any of you notice that the politicians on the bench had spread slightly and there was almost no room for Benn to sit down. It was as if they were trying to squeeze him out :heehee:. But it didn't stop him from shoving in next to po-faced Corbyn.

Actually, there wasn't much space on that bench anyway, and even Codger Corbin had trouble squeezing in on his late arrival. I have to hand it to Hilary Benn in that he was determined not be be isolated, had the guts to stand up in the House of Common, completely oppose his Leader, deliver a speech that appealed to those Labour inclined people, [outside the extremist controlled Labour Party], in the General Public] who vote will decide in the next General Election.:coffee::snork:
