    Hello,

every year we seem to get millions of seedlings, which if left alone develop into big straggly looking weeds - I'd really like to know what they are.
I've grown one on in the conservatory and taken some photographs - the pen is for scale reference - as you can see the flowers are tiny and very unusual looking.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

    Cumulus

Even though my success rate on id-ing plants is .......erm, questionable I still try-even if I know I am probably wrong.

    Perhaps a wood spurge?

Yep appears to be some kind of annual Spurge (Euphorbiaceae family) just go round with a hoe or if there's lots use a strimmer:hehe:

as long as you get them before they seed then eventually over a couple years you should manage to get rid of them all:thmb:

What a fantastic response - thanks everyone! It definately matches with Petty Spurge.

Knowing your enemy is a great help - and I've just been on a Spurge Purge with my hoe as Aesculus suggests. Boy they get everywhere, but at least aren't explosive in how quickly they grow - so hopefully a weekly cull should at least keep the problem in check next year.

    Thanks again!
