Having saved the album to the Watch Later function on YouTube I just started going through it. Not easy listening but Ye Gods what a masterpiece! The video for Blackstar tells us that this album is actually his Goodbye..............

Absolutely gutted and heartbroken :( Cant believe such a legend could be taken away from us at such a young age, he was truly an inspiration and an incredibly influential man who will be missed terribly.

RIP David Bowie, you wonderful man.

I feel surprisingly saddened at his passing. David Bowie seems to have been a part of our lives forever. I'm sure most have some kind of happy memories connected to his music. Whether its one of his big hits, or few flops such as Laughing Gnome.

RIP David, both you and your music will always be with us.

Saw him live in 1972, saw him + Angie at a London club in 1977, missed the other local gig when I knew the daughter of supporting artist.

Although I've never been a fan of David Bowie or his music, I appreciate he has made a great contribution to rock and was shocked to here of his passing today. R.I.P. David.

This feels really strange now, after compiling the original happy content, and now being left with this sadness within days .
I would like to add the following video, which I recently discovered on 'the tube'. I love this song, and often listen to it, but I warn you that the video is pretty 'dark'. I particularly like the Depeche mode style ending. Brilliant David :dbgrtmb:. May you R.I.P.

He is of course a musical legend. Isay 'is' instead of 'was' because a person that reaches so many people can never really die.

But let's not forget he also did some incredibly skilful acting too. He was a very influential man and is a very influential legend.

                      RIP David Bowie.

Bowie and Eno was always a winning combination!

I was surprised as to how I felt about hearing this this morning, very emotional.
He was a true legend of British music and a terribly sad loss.
                          An inventive, restless, inspirational talent.

I've never had a day before where all my text messages have been about Bowie.

As some of you know there is a reason why I changed my actual name to Ziggy....

I was too stunned earlier to post anything useful...

Also well impressed about the radio 2 coverage... hard to have a dry eye today :cry3:

Like to add to this tribute with one of my favourites

I've just watched the news on BBC1 and I'd like to say that I did have a few tears escape, one of the first records I ever bought was " Golden Years " .

I've never known the Beeb to do a tribute to someone that was so well thought out and presented.

DB was truly a global star, but most of all he was a genius who wasn't afraid to show who he really was.

I don't think anyone of his ilk has changed the world as much as him, wether it be music, fashion or issues dealing with sexuality.

I've often thought that he gave the World a good kick up the back side in the early 70's and without him we wouldn't have had the likes of Marc Bolan and The Sweet etc.

But, as well as this he ws also able to provide pure pop hits for the likes of Lulu, Peter Noone and Mott The Hoople.

RIP David Bowie and may God look after you forever.
