Merely a dusting of snow which will soon become a fleeting glimpse as it is thawing all the time

It's still cold at a chilly 2.3C. No sign of any snow here. I'm too near the coast I reckon. Don't forget to feed the birds folks - they get desperate in this cold weather :)

image.jpeg image.jpeg I am feeding the birdies throughout the year as have done for years but because of the snow on the ground and me not wanting to ruin it with footprints I have thrown them some seed which they have enjoyed:snork:

No snow here  :dunno:  in fact I was rather surprised how *mild* it seemed in the garden this afternoon when I was shifting pots and soil - even took my coat off! :hate-shocked:

No snow here but 1c and feels a lot colder in the nasty northerly, not helped by boiler keeping turning itself off (same one as @"M" I think), which works fine most of the year but goes into a hissy fit of ignition failure when it gets really cold, "reset" button hell until it settled down mid-morning. Kept myself warm by baking bread this morning and then the dreaded oven cleaning (could not respectably be put off any longer :rolleyespink:).
Back to mild and rainy from Thursday onwards ...

Check your condensate drain @Gay Gardener - that is one of the most common reasons that modern boilers don't fire - the condensate drain is frozen solid

It snowed overnight and I stood on the patio this morning to find it more like a patchy carpet of snow and ice crystals. The roads were clear as the Council has the benefit of the largest Salt mine in Europe in it's main town so the roads are always treated with salt when cold conditions appear. The temperature stayed at around 32f all day with the same pearly grey cloud in the skies as yesterday. The temperature has crept up to 33f right now with a pressure reading of 1021mbs. The forecast is for milder, windier weather towards the end of the week.:coffee:

Around 1 inch of snow fell in the night. Temps reached 2'c/36'f with dull grey skies.
Managed to have a snow ball fight with little Mowgley :lolpt:
Also found a small cat in the outhouse Friday morning which was freezing and shaking. After giving it shelter for a couple of nights now refuses too leave . Been and knocked on loads of doors around the neighbourhood and nothing. If I can get hold of a cat basket I'll be taking it to the vets to see if he's chipped.
Little Mowgley and missus Mowgley doesn't want him too leave though

Aww what a lovely cat! He must belong to someone though as he has a collar on. Hope you manage to reunite him with his family. They must be worried sick.

I can understand why: what a handsome fellow!!! May be my eyes but he looks quite young?
If you can't get hold of a cat basket, a box would do the trick.
I know its a wrench but, if he is micro chipped I bet his owners are going frantic with worry. And, if he isn't ... you may even get to keep him? Good luck in finding out one way or another :grphg:
