I'm currently experiencing some kind of freezing on GC, has anyone else got the same problem please. If I hit my personal drop down box I can't open anything within in it. If I hit 'like' buttons etc, they freeze then disappear completely. Strange!

      Nothing at my end @Sheal

It is worth trying the following:

      - Clear your cache and cookies (CCleaner is the easiest and most effective way of doing this)
      - Re-boot your PC
      - Re-start your modem and router
      - Check your line speed (www.speedtest.net) and look for signal degredation on the signal graph which indicates a fault on your line
      - Try a different browser (Firefox, Chrome, Edge being the main selection available)

I was just checking FC, thanks. :) I've got so many problems at the moment perhaps they're bouncing off each other. My son will be on Teamviewer for me tomorrow so I'll leave things until he's finished working through my list and then take it from there. Everything was fine until I downloaded the W10 upgrade a few weeks back, now it's all gone haywire.

        Hi Sheal,

        Same here.

I also have problems with missing alerts. A few times I've spotted by chance that I've been quoted or tagged in a post, and hadn't got analert so I'd ignored it unintentionally.

Also, I get intermittent total freeze of the site.

My son has tweaked everything possible and had a look here on GC, he thinks it's a site problem.

My alert box doesn't always drop down and I can't get into anything in my personal drop down box, preferences etc.

I now can't get into my Preferences, it brings up an error message.....

The server responded with an error. The error message is in the JavaScript console.

That does appear to be a GC problem, Sheal...........we'll see what we can do.

Sorry to moan, but I seem to have a fair few problems that have just started, I noticed it a few days running recently, then it sorted itself out, but happening again today.
When looking at the latest posts the times are displayed as YY/MM/DD and HH:MM am or something like that, I can't see it properly as it flashes on and off with the usual Posted 4 minutes ago or similar.
Also, I could not reply to a specific post without keep getting error messages. I seem to be able to post simply as Post Reply though.
Also, when I'm half way through a post, it seems like it is trying to post it without me hitting Post Reply and hangs and hangs before returning to the compose function.

Not a big deal, but bit irritating.

The rest of my web activities are without problem.

That (in my humble opinion) sounds very much like a long running script issue. Something which I have found to be at the root of some lagging issues on GC.
It must be quite time consuming locating issues in programming scripts.

Noticed Fat Controller had gone thru at new year and renewed a lot of the long running threads

If anyone notices anything huge can they let a member of staff know so we can restart it.

Also if anyone's got a pm going that's run into more than 50 pages can they start a new one too (think i'm guilty of that one again )

                        Ta :)
