I have bought a number of exotic plants from Amulree over the last few years.

    Some observations:

Many people speak very highly of Amulree, but i have also read of people complaining that plants bought mail-order have been small - e.g. very recently potted-on into the pot they are in, rather than being about to out grow it.

There are many plants on the website marked as "Out of stock". People have told me that plants that are once offered for sale are then never removed from the website, even if not re-stocked. So best not to assume something "out of stock" will be available again shortly.

Amulree have held a 50% off sale in early Autumn in both 2011 and 2012. Chance of a bargain! Worth planning to drive there when the sale is announced IMHO so you can hand-pick exactly what you want. (Carriage is expensive, in common with many smaller nurseries, and pot-luck how much mishandling they will get in transit :( )

Amulree get very unusual plants in from time to time. If you are happy to pay the price for unusual / rare its well worth being on their mailing list.

I've never had a problem with the plants I have had, but I have heard people speak highly of the service if there is a problem - comments like "Replaced free of charge" and "Try growing it on anyway, will refund if it fails" for very rare plants that have been mauled in transit.

Time ago I`ve seen a stand of amulree at Costco and automactly I though that amulree was just a big chain of garden center .
Never been so wrong , It`s almost one man garden center , like Kristen I went there and the owner Simon it`s a really nice person , always there with some good tips and he admitted that is not really good at update is website.
about the peoples complain for the plants size, I`ve done it myself , as I was there picked the best and bigger plant available and left the tiny plants , of course he will no through away just because they are too small .
He work really hard to find rare plants and actually many of the nicest plants are not even on the net .
