The gardens are located just outside Dutton, Cheshire, a few minutes from Junctions 10 or 11 on the M56. Please see our How To Find Us page for full travel directions.

2017 opening hours
March 1st to 31st:
Nursery only open Wed/Thur/Fri 10am to 5pm

April 1st to October 1st
Nursery and gardens open Wed-Sun 10am to 5pm plus Bank Holidays

October 3rd to October 27th
Nursery only open Wed/Thur/Fri 10am to 5pm

The online shop is open all year round.

Parking and access
There is plenty of free parking available for visitors. Disabled visitors are welcome to park at the top of the track, next to the tea room. Don't be put off by the narrow lane or the canal bridge - just take it slow but please don't beep! Coach parking is available by prior arrangement (see Group Bookings).

Disabled access
We welcome visitors in wheelchairs and mobility scooters to the gardens and nursery. The nursery and garden are on gentle slopes with no steps, however two small areas of the garden are inaccessible to wheelchairs as the paths are narrow. We make no entry charge to the gardens for wheelchair users because of this reduced access. The disabled parking space is right next to the nursery entrance, with room to get a chair or scooter out of the car. We don't have wheelchairs or mobility scooters for hire. We do not have a fully accessible toilet - visitors do need to be able to leave the chair for a few steps to use it.

Admission Prices for Gardens
Adults £3.50, RHS members free, under 18’s free. We are participants in the BBC GW magazine '2-for-1' offer on production of a valid card. There is no entry charge for the bluebell woods, meadow, nursery or tea room.

Refreshments
Hot and cold drinks, locally make cakes and Cheshire Farm Ice Cream are offered on a self-service basis in the nursery tearoom during the week. At busy weekends, Cathy from 'Cake Day!' will be here to serve her excellent selection of home-made cakes and lemonade. There is plenty of seating both inside and out. You are very welcome to bring a picnic lunch – we have tables by the tea room that you are welcome to use. We do request that visitors don’t take picnics into the garden as it can detract from the enjoyment of the gardens by others. A toilet is provided for customer use. We do not have a fully accessible toilet - visitors do need to be able to leave the chair for a few steps to use it.

Dogs
Assistance dogs are welcome in the gardens and nursery sales area. Visitors may walk dogs in the meadow and woods. Dogs are also welcome to sit with their owners at the outside tables near the tea room. We do ask that dogs are kept on a close lead at all times.

Walkers, cyclists and boaters
Walkers, cyclists and canal boaters are very welcome. Car parking for walkers is usually available just inside the main nursery gate. Please don’t park on the lane as it very narrow and causes obstructions. For cyclists we have a bike rack just outside the nursery entrance by the tea room for your use. The area is superb for walking and cycling. The gardens are adjacent to the Trent and Mersey Canal and just ten minutes walk from Dutton Locks on the River Weaver. There are plenty of circular walks in the area, we provide maps at the nursery.

For canal boaters: the gardens are about on the Trent and Mersey Canal about a mile south of the Preston Brook Canal. Just moor up near bridge 213, walk through the slip path by the bridge and keep going down the hill. The entrance is 100yards on the right.
