Yes.. our Celia next door has made it to 103 years old today !
I seem to remember posting a thread last year at 102.
I was round there at 11:30 this morning to wish her well and give a little present and out came the whiskey..... Oh dear.. when she pours a shot its glug..glug..glug.. glug..glug.
Never go boozing with a 103 year old !
I really hope I can report the same in a years time..

Blimey, many happy returns to your friend.

I've got to live to 104, as I need to witness the time capsule at hastings castle being dug up.

I was there at 4 years old to watch its deposition in 1966, & i thought to my self then " I'm comming back to watch them open it"

My brother was at Hastings in 1966 too, as part of the re-enactment of the battle. He was a student at Wye college then. I can't remember if he was on the winning or losing side

Good luck with your plan, I'll come and watch in 2066 too :hehe:

Had an old neighbour ,similar to Celia, she remembered everyone's birthday in the area. on my birthday
it was a glorious morning and i was out the back sitting on a deck chair enjoying the sun ,when a hand came through the Hedge with a tumbler full of whisky wishing me a happy birthday :).
when i say a tumbler it was a half pint glass 3/4 full :). my wife was out shopping at the time , by the time she returned, i was sound asleep on my deck chair (PISSED) :( and old Mary was doing her Garden:yez:.

Its great to know and befriend folk like this. We need more of it in our world.
I must remember to take my whiskey around to Celias next year and maybe call a bit later.
Drinking all that at that time of the day did me no favours

Congrats to Celia. Sadly, my lovely neighbour Peggy didn't quite get that far - although she did make it to ninety-one. She was still climbing about on the roof well into her eighties, because she couldn't bear the thought of unclean gutters. :hehe: She also helped to run the local 'old folks' group. Most of the 'old folks' she looked after were significantly younger than her, but she couldn't bear to sit around, even for a moment.

A while back, there was a bit of a commotion outside our house. 'Oh no!', we thought, 'hooligans!'. But it was just little Peggy and her pals, falling off the coach after a church jolly which had involved rather a lot of sherry. :)
