I have just checked my mother in-laws phone bill . She had made several phone calls to 118 118 directory enquiry . The charge for each enquiry........... £4.45 !! How the phone regulators allow these excessive charges is beyond me. I can't remember last time I used a directory enquiry or a phone book , you can find all phone numbers on the interenet. I have attached a list of enquiry charges below - use these companies at your peril ! She is on BT for her phone , I presume there is a service to block outgoing numbers , is this a chargeable service?
As far as I know, BT directory enquiries costs you even if you're with BT. If it's still going, 0800 100 100 is a free service but you have to listen to 20 seconds of ads first. Connections may cost you, so still dial the number you want yourself.
Their TV advertisements with the two lookalike extremely annoying unfunny men are obviously paying off!!!
