    Absolute classic.

I do hope that no Americans are listening to it as they may well believe it is for real and start another war.(No offence Bettyboo 1948, just a little dig at the first time it was broadcast in America and it caused panic amongst your countrymen) :D :D

Also glad I`m not a grouse [IMG]

Morning pip ... t'other half is American! :D It was very windy and "cold" feeling so I chickened out but he stayed up half the night lying on the deck. He's not up yet so don't know how many shooting stars he counted! [IMG]

Hi Marley. We saw seven when I was up there then he saw none after I came down. Apparently then he came down, went to bed, got up at 3.30 and went up again and saw another seven. Perfectly clear sky, but damp. We shall go up again tonight also. [IMG]

Hmmm. My first hobby is Astronomy. I'm allowed to keep the g-children up late to watch this display. It's the only time I can promise them that they will see "Shooting Stars". Sort of tradition in the family. That's what I'm going to do now . Night, night guys [IMG]

Just been out - and watched the night sky for about 10 minutes before a cricked neck drove me in. Not sure what I am looking for - plenty of stars, and quite a few planes - but nothing that I could imagine to be a shooting star. Will try again in a while - which way are they going N to S or E to W.

We've just been out - and saw more than ten! Some were small, and some were quite impressive! Yoy'll know when you see one Fran! Keep trying!

Mostly, the ones we saw were in the South - heading from the top of the sky towards the ground - to put it technically!

We took the car, a few minutes out of town to avoid the lights. Well worth staying up late for! If it wasn't quite so chilly, would've stayed longer (was out for 20 mins or so).

Hope everyone who looks gets a good view!

There are other meteor "Swarms" during the year. It's just that the Perseids are visible over more nights than the others. Do yuo want a list, Fran?
