      Not aaaaaalll bad, but....
so, as soon as we had the keys to the house in one hand we took spade and grubber in the other.
By the end of gardening season 2010 we had renovated most of the house and cleaned up the garden.
I spent the veeeeery long, veeeeeeery cold and snowy winter
looking at gardening magazines and catalogues, reading blogs and websites, thinking up what our garden should look like "one day" and learning about what plant likes which spot and neighbor.
So a plan slowly took shape:ideaIPB:...in my head, then on paper and on screen.
By the time snow melted and little dabs of green started showing
      I was reeady!!!!!!!:dancy:

March 2011 I broke my ankle:oopss:...ouch and darned
But...gardening's not for the wimpy, so I hobbeled about with cast and crutches.
This should be the first project of the season:
        Hüttefrontal.JPG

the cabin! the cabin! The guy inspecting the porch is my lifelong project :wub2:
It took one sunny workaholic weekend and this is what came of it:
        IMG_5181_2.JPG

to paint the porch we would have had to take up every single whats-it-called?:help: and paint it one by one.
Not!!!! I got some matching camping carpet and aluminium rail. Saved time and marriage, easy to keep clean and looks neat :)

By July '11, this is what it looked like:

        No more bavarian chique :ccheers:

          On we go...
The street front needed change. This is what we moved in to in June 2010:
          StrassenseiteNS.JPG

I decided against straight lines and so experimented with the garden hose in order to find the right "curvature"
This is what I came up with:
          WApril11.jpg
Ok...not too bad, but I want a second sitting place at the SW-Corner in order to be able to overlook the whole garden.
          So...
we shot this pavillion at an auctionhouse and put it up right there in May of 2011:
          wjune11_2.JPG

          nice, but....
maybe a bit more privacy would be nice so we visited the auction house again and found a grown hedge which hubby and a friend dug out on a very wet saturday and replanted it at our house the same day.
Came evening, neither of the guys were able to raise a fork to their lips because their arms felt as if filled with led and the fell asleep very early that evening. :snooze:
This was the result of a very hard day of gardening:
          Heckeneu0811.JPG

and the way things looked in August of 2011

More next time...I get tired just looking at it ;-)

:ThankYou: to Penny,Jenny and the likers :-) I'll show you how the project went on...
After the hedge was set luna walked up and down down and up and decided that because of the hedge there was now not enough room for perennials in front of the hedge:oopss:.
Soooooo hubby was grumpy and luna had to pick up and reset the stone border on her own.
            Which she did :pathd:
That was the last project on THAT side of the garden for 2011.
Another winter of reading, planing, waiting passed and spring found me with many new projects on my mind.
March and April was spent shopping, preparing the soil and planting.
            I'm done..now thrive...please?
            P1010434.jpg
            And it did :yahoo:
Nowadays this is what I look at:

was in a hurry this morning so probably didn't post it right.
                So here it is:

the house thingy is an insect hotel
filled with different materials...it makes useful critters feel at home

                Insektenhotel.JPG
                @ evil :
Its not small, but not huge I would say
Our lot has 780 square meters all together...whats that in feet??
The backyard has about 22x18 meters and ends with the hedge behind the pavillion.
I decided on this color for the summer house as I did want it to look friendly but step back behind the plants in the garden.
The paint is scandinavian, extremely durable and really great to work with. It's called...........I don't recall just now, but I can find out if you'd like to know :)
