We're nearly out of the dark now:thumbsup:

Still vaguely light at 6.15 down here. Sun heated the water up to 29c from cold today & the Daffodillos are opening:sunny:

Yes a lovely evening here as well Ziggy , even gave the front lawn a light cut  I always wondered why they dont put the clocks forward at this time of year , that is about 10 weeks after the shortest day . We put them forward about 8 weeks before the shortest day. So why wait 14 weeks until end of March to spring forward  I hope thats clear to everyone :D

Still waiting for it to be light enough for you to photograph that scary thing on the way back from work Dave.

Indeed, Clue you are right - worked half day today (proper job) - this afternoon lovely - but you and I know that here you can have all four seasons in one week - so as we say - Don't cast a clout ..etc...

I haven't forgot. I just have been that way for a few days. Its not on the way home, its on my walk that I sometimes do after work.

I've always wondered that as well, there doesn't seem to be a reason for it. I'm sure we'd all be pleased to feel that spring was starting a little earlier, at least in terms of usable light.

Driving on the A50 in gorgeous clear twilight at 6:15 this evening.

                    Clear as Yorkshire Fog Harry:D

Thats another thing to add to the GC Manefesto:thumbsup:

Clocks go forwards 2 hours on the 1st of March. Yes, it will mean going to work in the dark, but it means it'll be light till 8pm in the evenings, and light till midnight in the middle of summer.

                    I could handle that.

Amesbury is between me and the coast, and that's a good week for early morning/evening (6am'ish+ BST from Wed) spring tides in the South West, and the camp sites will be open - it's very tempting, maybe too tempting if the weather forecast is good. I've not been there for some time and I've just got the OK from Mrs Scrungee.

Well you won't find me voting for it.

I've spent the last 3 months getting up and going to work in the dark and now, just as the mornings are finally getting light, you want to plunge me back into darkness again! No thanks.

I think the current arrangement is just fine, March is a fickle month and round these parts the evenings at this time of year are still fairly nippy, so having lighter evenings (and darker mornings) wouldn't be much of a gain.

Of course it may be different in the tropical South-West. :stirpot:
