    evening all,

Looking for some support with my fairly new lawn.

It's started to go brown in a lot of areas more recently. It's a new lawn sat on a fresh 4 or more inches of new top soil.

Really unsure what could be causing it as I did all the prep work by the book

    Cheers

    phil

Sorry to ask the stoopid of stoopidest questions ... but, as it is a new lawn ... have you kept it WELL watered? We've had some savage heat in recent weeks! :phew:

      My question too M.
It has been so hot....grass doesnt enjoy hot summers at the best of times and a new lawn will struggle with those temperatures.
Yes, WELL watered Philcw. Probably looking at watering every day too. In normal summer conditions a drench twice a week but the roots need to be kept moist until the lawn is established.:)

Is it turf or did you sow it?

        From the original post ..
        ...
.. seems safe to assume it is turf ( "sat on" ... as opposed to ... seeded upon? :dunno: )

How often are you cutting it, if it's new turf it looks a tad low.
Too much tap water can also effect levels but you would have to really be watering hard but it can be bad depending on area.
Quality of turf also comes into play.
Is there any sign of white like growth close to the soil?
