65ft minimum for snails.

Just heard on the news that snails can find their way home inside a 65ft distance, so seems like we need to get some good distance into our throwing arms.

 

They can run as well you know...
Yesterday I found a large terracotta pot tucked in a corner of the garden ,turns out it was home to Eighty five of the little(I actually counted them) I picked them off and threw them on to the lawn for the 'staff' to munch on...OK it was a girly throw,only about 20ft...I put the now empty pot on the patio only to look round half an hour later to see some of them returning and crawling their way up the pot and on looking on the lawn you could see them making their way backhad to get the boss onto it

 

No wonder that hen looks so plump and glossy!

 

Couldn't you give them a lift with a courtesy bus pass?

 

Mmm.... 65ft. That's just about the length of a cricket pitch.

If I can get hold of a bat, anyone fancy a game of snail cricket?

 

I've just put some pineapple wine out for mine, little so and so's had the growing tip out of my beans

 

It's not fair for slugs. They never get flying lessons. Discrimination, I say.

 

Have you ever tried slinging a slug ? the little won't let goI go for the 'flick' technique

 

My slugs get a generous amount of salt.

 

The humble slug was amongst our allies in WW1
They could detect mustard gas in the air thus giving our troops time to don their gas masks before it was too late.

I view them differently now - never know when I might be under threat of a mustard gas attack, but the slugs will!
