8 month old son and my new canon 650d

I bought a dslr as my son was born 8 months ago, completely new to photography and not a clue how a dslr works.... So I've been read up on the internet and also canons own magazine photo plus, I think I'm slowly getting the hang off it..... I like the shots with a pure black background done with the camera and edited... Here's a couple I've done recently, I'm open to comments, suggestions on improvements thanks for looking..








I do browse a photography forum and got done advise for my next attempt but feel free to give me any tips.

Sorry, I have nothing useful to say about photography as my photography skills are limited to pointing my phone at a scene and pressing one button, but there are plenty of very skilled photographers here.
