    Had a visitor in the conservatory today..
    He was rather large even for a bumble

    Caps it's a" red tailed bumble bee" Bombus lapidarius the second largest in G B the largest is the "Buff-tailed bumble bee" Bombus terrestris,there are about 19 different types of bumble bee.

    Thanks for IDing walnut.
    I had to be a bit careful with him as he keeped slamming into the window and ending upside down on the ledge!
    Im sure he was a tad upset by the time I managed to get him outside.
