The boiler's not working (new one being fitted tomorrow) and I'm keeping warm through mugs of bovril! A terrible state of affairs lol
I shall be able to warm up later though as I'm continuing the mission to dig out the conifer stump (a LOT bigger than it looked!)

    Brr, where's me blanket?

Apart from the bathroom and the occasional open fire, we don't intend putting the heating on until 1st November, only jumpers and thicker duvets.

Yes, was reading that in bed this morning! I fall into the category of refusing on principle but at the moment I'm cold and I want my central heating! Chimney is now swept which will help this evening :)

@Scrungee 1st of November that's last even by my standards :lunapic 130165696578242 5:
We don't switch ours on usually till October. Mainly the reason being there's no need for it to be on it the house, yes it maybe cold outside but inside its around 16'c.
The missus would have it on all the time, but the money we save goes on a holiday some where warm in winter:ideaIPB:.
Besides that when we lived at her mothers for a few years they had they heating on constantly in winter and it me it's not good for your health.

I've given in twice this week and flicked it on for an hour or two. Saturday night it fell to 6° around here and I was cold all Sunday despite being wrapped in a heavy jumper so about teatime I gave in. Our house is usually warm but last night my wife was complaining about being cold despite being wrapped up which is unusual. I don't think it's the fact that it's so cold but more because of the sudden drop in temperature.

Maybe it's old age setting in early but I'm really feeling the cold these days. Maybe because both me and my dad have low blood pressure and are built like stick insects which doesn't help. Last year I invested in some thermals. Might have to break them out today before I go out.

We've lit a fire most days this past week (log burner) and last night I relented and got my hot water bottle in bed to keep the old feet warm! The electric blanket won't come out until at least October...

The principle that I live in the hot and balmy South and therefore it isn't required yet!

The rain has come which has stopped play outdoors so I'm off to the garage to find where I stashed last years kindling...
