I have had an odd email and wondered if any other members who used to be in the BBC gardening forum have had the same, its what appears to be from another gardening forum , an update . I know many of them joined our Friendly Gardeners Forum, Im puzzled where it has come from and why?

I reconise the forum from the username which I used in that particular gardening forum .

I had understood when moderators announced closing of a Gardening Forum our emails deleted etc with it plus any of our details required to join but they must have been carried forward which seems wrong. If our emails have been passed on , I wonder what other details have been passed on too ?

      Are you referring to GW?
When one registered with GW, it was for the whole of the organisation - of which the forum was just a part.
It was only the forum that closed down. Your details should still give you access to the rest of the site.
I receive occasional emails from them, which I promptly delete. I guess I ought to unregister.

I have just checked my emails and I have not got one. I would double check that it isn't spam or phishing if I was you.

Some of the old forum remains on this website.

      Non-political space

Maybe there is more information hidden behind the curtains. (I’m not computer literate, as you can see.)

Look carefully at the Email address line. If it does not say Gardeners' World etc.then it is likely to have been a phishing message.

The heading was ' Last weeks most popular topics (from gardening forums)
I have not been on our friendly gardening forum for a few months and thought it was a new idea , so I opened the email. I first saw that none of the members were from the Uk but Africa, America Canada, a lot from the different zones. I then saw my username which I used in GW Forum .

It has gone into Spam .

They probably pulled your user name from GW (I guess the site may still be accessible but not open - but don't know) and is phishing/spam.
