    First one is California poppy, the second is a weed:snork:

      Californian poppy - that confirms her suspicions then, and will hopefully allow her to get more for next year (although I could always educate her on seed collection.....)

      And yes, it is a weed - - and it was in amongst a whole plethora of weeds, about 60% of which were brambles that are absolutely loaded with forming berries, so guess where I am going later this year.... bramble wine! :yes:

        and the second one is not a weed! it's one of those indigenous wild flowers :spinning:

        and this case I think it might be Burdock? as in Dandelion and Burdock :ccheers:

          Looking at the images, I would say that you are bang on once again @Silver surfer :)

          Are those petasites dangerous in any way (thinking skin rashes etc)? The reason I ask is that there are blackberries by the million along there and I am planning that it will be the place to collect them this year - don't want to go walking amongst those if they are a bit fickle...
