The link below is a photo diary of a dogs last day, and is extremely sad.

We lost our dog 2 years ago, and to be honest looking through the diary brought back all the emotions I felt when it was his last day. In all honesty I wish I had never clicked it as I only made it half way through before I needed to take a break.

So why did I share it? it is beautifully done and only highlights the fact that it is a honour to be a part of their lives when they are with us.

I really was torn about whether to post this so if you do click it, make sure you have tissues ready.

Still thinking about it nearly an hour after looking at it, and thought I would share 3 photos of our old dog Zac, these were also taken on his last day.

Its a very sad day when you have to let your faithful friend go . While they are remembered with affection , they will always live in our memory.

We have experienced "the last day" so many times over the years and if anything it gets harder each time. I like to think that our pets are only loaned to us for a short time and then they go on to brighten someone else's lives.
What a wonderful diary of memories you put together, sad but also beautiful.

RIP Zac: you were clearly loved :doggieshmooze:

It's my belief that it gets harder simply because when we grieve a fresh passing, it has an accumulative affect: we not only grieve for the latest loss, but also from the previous loss/losses (even if only on a subconscious level) :grphg:
