Some Rosemary, actually... nothing too exciting. Step one in establishing a herb garden is increasing my stock. Garden centres are just too expensive, so cutting it is.

I've also taken a cutting from a Crabapple growing in my garden, so we'll see how that one turns out.

    Hi Busybee
Just take off one of the soft stemmed branches (sprig) about 6" long. Strip some of the bottom leaves to leave a bare stem and put it in a glass of water.
I use empty glass spice jars with a short section of a loo roll tube placed over to keep the light out (roots hate light). For a humidity dome, cut the top half off a clear plastic bottle and remove the cap.
Put it on the windowsill and it should show roots within a couple of weeks.

This bush is 3 years old and it grew from a sprig of rosemary that came in a cellophane wrapped pre-cut herb pack from morrisons, so its very easy to root.

I put a rosemary cutting in water at 3pm, lets see how long it takes to put some roots out
