That's quite a slope you are on Losty!

The rockery is going to look really fab when it has filled out. Lovely plants you have!

Thanks for showing! You have transformed it really nicely. The lawn is very good.

Vert nice but be careful on the slope.

We don't mind the slope we are climbers ;)
It isn't too bad actually as there are various levels reached by steps. The garden looks quite different depending on where you are standing.
It is south east facing and is right on the top of the hill almost so we catch a lot of wind which doesn't suit all the plants we have tried. But there are sheltered corners. The biggest problem the first year was with slugs, which had obviously run rampant over the years. The rockery area was a virtual bare slope with some good plants, a few weeds and self setter treelings, and the odd rock dotted about. However whilst digging over the rest of the garden we found loads of buried limestone rocks (no idea how they had got that way). Infact enough to construct a proper rockery with a few left over! I went a bit mad on my first attempt and Michele said that it looked more like a brick wall than anything else so I had to lug all the rocks off and go for a more restrained scheme.
The garden as a whole drains reasonably well considering it has a quite heavy clay soil (gradually working more organic matter into it). It's fun to work on though [IMG]
