- is this Paulownia tormentosa? If it is,we have a problem!

2. Yes. Paulownia tomentosa.
Is it suckering from a bigger tree? They are terrible for suckering!

3. and 4.Has the look of an Acer sp.
But not one of the everday sp
Maybe Acer buergerianum or one in that sp.

the second look like a Paulownia tormentosa , not problem at all , they are quite slow grower for the first few years and then if you cut it down will just look nice

 

the problem is, they're taking over!! That was one of many seedlings around the area.. hmm! Dare I say it they are seeming to be invasive.

No not suckering from a bigger tree.. this was under an pine.

 

It is a problem under the pine tree.
Far too close.
Paulownia grow big and need room and sun to produce flowers.
It has to go!

So the flowers are yellow!
I was completely foxed by the pink /red stipules! Duh!
I have been going nuts trying to id this plant.

No 1. looks to me like Teucrium chamaedrys

Well done Pete! Thank goodness we now know what it is - spare time now for other things (I can get the washing-up done now) as I kept trying to find the identity of it.

 

The Amicia and the Paulownia were the only two I was sure about, the Maple looked a bit like A. monspessulanum.

 

You are probably right pete.
